With God's love, we live, learn and grow together

A message from Mrs Statham - Head of School

As we approach the end of the first half term, I would like to say a big thank you to our families for making sure our children are attending school every day. I am thrilled to report that St. Andrew's is once again at the top end of the school table in Enfield this month with 97.5%. This is fantastic news.

Meeting with Parent Reps

This week, I met with many of the class parent reps, to talk about how the term has been so far and to thank them for doing such an amazing job for our families. Parent reps help communicate school messages, remind parents about trips and events and also screenshot homework! Get in touch with your Class Rep, or come to the office if you are not sure who it is.

Dropping off at the gates in the mornings

Please be reminded that children in Years 2, 3 and 4 MUST walk into school with an adult. A few children are being left at the gate to walk in by themselves. Only children in Y5 and 6 have written permission to do this. Thank you.

Practising the basics for a happy lunchtime.

Thank you to Reception and Year 1 parents for taking the time to help our young children to use a knife and fork.  We are noticing some improvements. Keep going over the half term break!

Winter Uniform after half term

After half term, summer dresses will be replaced with a white shirt and school tie. Please ensure your child's name is on every jumper, cardigan and coat.

Wishing you all a safe and restful half-term break. See you on 2nd November!

Attendance at St. Andrew's School

Excellent attendance again for the majority of pupils across the year groups. Well done all classes who have achieved 96% and above!

ARBOR APP - our parent portal. Have you downloaded the app?

The Arbor App is one of the main ways in which the school communicates information to parents.

  • Important messages - you MUST turn on your notifications to receive alerts for these.
  • Booking school lunches in advance
  • Booking parent meetings (the dates and times for November meetings are now on the app)
  • Make sure both contacts have downloaded the app

Cross Country Superstars!

Last Friday afternoon, 10 children from Years 5 and 6 took part in the Enfield School's Cross Country Competition at Enfield Playing Fields.

With over 25 schools competing, we are thrilled to announce that Charlie  in 6B came first in the whole competition, with the boys and the girls teams combined coming 2nd overall. This is an outstanding achievement for St. Andrew's as every runner showed such determination, effort and resilience. Look out for the shield in the office area! Thanks to Mrs Dilieto and Coach Kymani for their support throughout the competition.

Boys Football Tournaments

With our Year 6 boys away on the school residential, some of our Y5 boys gladly stepped in to represent the school. They won their first match, drew one and lost one. As first time players in this league, they were a credit to the school and played with great enthusiasm and resilience.

Our mixed Y5 and Y6 team has played 7 games altogether over the weeks. Last week, the team won all three games and came 3rd overall on goal difference, only. Well done to all the boys who have played this year. Thanks to Mr Cook for organising and supporting the teams.

Year 1 visit Enfield Town Library

This week, our Year 1 children visited the library in town, spotting signs of Autumn along the way! The children were very excited to listen to a story, where they joined in a bear hunt. They then set off exploring their own book choices, carefully looking at front covers and reading blurbs. Mrs Meekin is organising for all year groups to visit the library over the year.

4 discos in one day!

Last Friday, out wonderful PTA organised four discos from 2.30pm to 7pm. It was our Reception children's first time at a disco, yet they had such fun dancing and singing. A huge thanks to the parents and staff who stayed late on Friday to help out.
