TRIPS AND EVENTS

We have had such a busy two weeks, in what has been the most challenging circumstances. The heatwave, humidity and general extreme heat has affected all of us, yet the school has found ways to ensure children and staff are as safe as possible. We have 3 classrooms with air conditioning and these have been rotated throughout the two weeks, whilst year groups have been on trips around the local area.

Sports Days

Our two sports days were well attended by families and the PTA were amzing, selling drinks and pastries. A huge well done to all the children who took part. Here are the overall results:

WInner - MENDEL             Runner UP - FRANKLIN

3rd place - NEWTON     4th place - HAWKING

OPEN AFTERNOON

Last Friday, we held our open afternoon for parents and families. This is an opportunity to children to show their parents some of the work the class has been doing, as well as take them to their new classrooms next year. The work on show was impressive and it was lovely to see children taking charge with the tour! A huge thanks to the staff for providing wonderful classrooms to look in.

KS1 EVENTS

Last week, almost every child in Y1 and Y2 enjoyed the Pyjamarama event. Children came back to school in the evening in the pyjamas, along with teddies and other cuddly toys, to enjoy an hour of storytime outside.

This week, Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous day at Chalkwell Beach in Essex.
Armed with gazebos, sunhats and huge packed lunches, the children and staff boarded the coach to the seaside. Lots of paddling in the sea, building sand castles and enjoying time with friends. Wonderful memories for the children.

Year 2 children also performed their Country Dancing songs to the parents on the field. A huge thank you to our fantastic staff for their effort and enthusiasm with these enrichment events.

KS2 EVENTS

What a fortnight of epic events in KS2! Y3 went to Alexandra Palace to look at the London skyline, Y4 went to Tolmers Activity Centre, Y5 children attended the STEM Fair at Chace and Year 6 went to Go Ape in Alexandra Palace. A huge thanks to all the staff who supported on these trips, particularly in the extreme heat.
