Year 6 residential trip to Grittleton House, Wiltshire

Last week, we took our Year 6 children away for the week to a beautiful part of the country. Grittleton House near Chippenham in Wiltshire is a grade 2 listed country house with acres of stunning grounds. The children spent their time taking part in nearly 15 activities, including body zorbing, crate stacking, Escape Room and den building.

Of course, being away from home had its challenges for our oldest children - making their own beds, being responsible for their own kit and working together to make the week successful.

A huge thank you to the following staff for giving up their time to support the children: Ms Lawal, Miss Ferguson, Mrs Anderson, Mrs Statham and Miss Mann. We look forward to doing it all again next year!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Thank you to everyone who donated biscuits, cakes and pastries for our outdoor coffee morning on Friday 20th September. It was lovely to see so many new Reception parents at the event, as well as PTA members, too. There was quite a rush on takeaway coffees, for those parents who had to dash off but we thank you all for giving so generously.  The total raised was over £220. Thanks to our school community for supporting Macmillan Cancer Care.

What's been happening around the school?

Worship Committee 2024-25

Our new Worship Committee are ready to support worship in our school. This includes writing prayers for whole school Collective Worship and class end of the day prayers, selecting music and images for weekly Worship and helping the younger children to walk quietly out of the hall.  Please see our page on the website under PUPILS for more information. Thank you to Mrs Kirby, our RE Lead for supporting the children throughout the year.

Architecture in Year 5

In Year 5, our children have been looking at architecture in their art unit. They started by sketching nearby houses, then selected detailed sections which could be transformed into prints.

Year 2 learn about heart rates

In Year 2 PSHE lessons, our children have been learning about their own health and well-being. They discussed which active  things they do in and out of school, then took part in activities on the field which raised their heart rate. They discussed how they felt after exercise and what happens to their bodies and heart rate.
