Good attendance is essential to your child’s education. Children need to attend school every day so that they are able to build on the skills and knowledge learnt the previous day. Parents need to ensure that children come to school regularly and only miss school in exceptional circumstances such as illness. If your child is unwell, please contact the school office on the dedicated absence line and send a note in, to confirm the reason for the absence when your child returns.
Please make routine dental and doctor’s appointments during after school hours or holiday periods.
It is equally important to ensure that children arrive at school on time. Reception to Year 6 pupils need to be in the playground, ready to go into class by 8.55am. If children are persistently late, they will miss the first part of the teaching and can also find it difficult to settle into the class when the lesson has already started. Late arrivals disrupt the lesson and therefore the learning of others too.
Holidays need to be taken during the school holiday periods. We are no longer able to authorise holidays during term time.
